Corvette ZR1 Sets Lap Record at Virginia International Raceway (VIR)

Chevrolet has announced that their new-for-2019 Corvette ZR1 has set a production-car lap record at the American benchmark track of Virginia International Raceway. Traversing the 4.1-mile Grand Course West at the track in 2:37:25, the ZR1 cements itself in the upper echelons of any automobile sold today.

The ZR1 was completely stock, except for a harness bar, track seats, and a five-point harness used for safety. The vehicle was equipped with the 8-speed automatic, and the ZTK optional performance package. This package adds $2,995 to the MSRP of $119,995 and includes an adjustable rear wing, a front splitter, summer-only tires, and special chassis tuning.
