History Hits Dream Car Edition: If There Was Only One…
Over the past four weeks, I have taken a look at the various car-producing regions of the world, picking my ‘dream car’ from the various classical cars on selection from each. I started in Japan, heading East as the weeks progressed. Picking my favorite classic–anything 25 years or older–from America, the U.K./Europe region, and Soviet Russia, I ended up looking at four cars (hard math, right?).
Japan: 1971 Nissan Skyline GT-R ‘Hakosuka’
United States of America: 1955 Chevrolet Nomad
U.K./Europe: 1998 Aston Martin Vantage V600
Soviet Union: 1984 Tatra 613-2
However, no matter what your parents have told you, there always has to be a favorite. The scenario is dire: my dream garage, filled with all four of the above, is about to blow up. I have enough time, just, to drive one of them out. Which one do I choose? The answer is the car that started this series off: the ‘Hakosuka’ GT-R from Nissan. While watching the dual-supercharged V8 in the Vantage blow up–I am sure it wouldn’t be my first time *wink wink*–would be a shame, the GT-R would forever leave a hole in my heart.
Plus fender-mounted mirrors are sweet.
Disagree with my choice? Let me know! If a cool classic you love isn’t listed, post it down in the comments. As always, like and share the article with your friends!
